Ultimate CAS Interface

The INT202 is the ultimate digital interface for audio playback from computer. It is a premium quality stereo Firewire to AES/EBU and S/PDIF conversion. The INT202 outputs can be operated in single wire up to 192 kHz sampling rate or in dual wire at the 176.4 / 192 kHz rates.
The INT203 outputs and AES/EBU, SPDIF digital inputs can be operated in single wire up to 192 kHz sampling rate bi-directional.

In addition the audio volume / absolute phases can be controlled in the digital domain via an infrared remote control unit. With the volume control feature it can also replace a preamplifier. The INT202 is the ideal bridge between traditional audio system with latest computer as source on files playback.

The internal circuit design of INT202 shows swiss made Weiss quality level. The firewire connection uses internal master clocks which located extremely close to the firewire DICE circuit and AES/EBU output connectors. This ensures the highest precision timing and work as the master clock for computer as source system.

Level Control:
With the (optional) Remote Control unit the gain can be controlled between 0dB and –60dB: From 0dB to –20dB in 0.5dB steps and from –20dB to –60dB in 1dB steps. In the 0dB gain position the INT202 is fully bit transparent, i.e. it does not change the data in any way. In all other gain positions the output signal is properly dithered to a wordlength of 24 bits. All units are shipped with a 0dB gain setting and non inverting phase setting, i.e. when there is no remote control included the unit is in fully transparent mode.

Absolute Phase control:
Pressing the mute switch for a few seconds toggles the operation mode to phase control. In that mode the ^ key switches the phase to 0° and the v key switches to 180° (i.e. inverted phase). Press the mute key for a few seconds again to get back to the volume control mode. The phase set before is retained when switching back to volume control mode. When changing the phase with the ^ and v keys you notice a short muting of the audio. This prevents from any clicks caused by the phase switching and also is an indication that the switching has actually taken place. If you already owned a high quality DAC and do not want to buy a new one, the INT202 is your best option to use computer as source.


This video shows the Weiss INT202 latest version TRSP (Bit Transparency Check) function. When the TRSP Check is ON, it checks the computer firewire playback bit pattern with our supplied WAV files. If the data is bit transparent, the LED is flashing. When the firewire playback is not transparent, it stops flashing (for example in this video 00:11-00:15, the iTunes volume is not at maximum)
